What is a BlairWear™ Party?

BlairWear founder, artist and illustrator Blair Bauer has fashioned a business around Day Glo, double entendres, science friction, and schlock culture - blended well and airbrushed up into the girly glam graffiti style she's made her own. Blair's charms are the nectar for tweens, toddlers and adults. Most recently, BlairWear's kids line, which moved into the children's department at Barneys New York in fall 2005, had a 30% sell through in its first week, making BlairWear the top selling children's designer.

After graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Accessory design in 1997, Blair moved into the legendary Chelsea Hotel. Blair painted on canvas, created cartoons, and experimented with her new toy, the airbrush gun. Eventually customizing for celebrities like Vanessa Carlton, Janet Jackson, Ashlee Simpson, The White Stripes, Pink and Weezer! Self-taught, the airbrush and style she has made her own is now what makes BlairWear a New York City cult classic.

Prior to college Blair worked with kids and volunteered for kids organizations such as the Adam Walsh Foundation, and Camp Good Days and Special Times. Blair was the arts and crafts go-to girl, and the kids couldn't get enough! To date Blair has been hired for children's events all over the city. Blair painted a life size mural at PS 110, in Greenpoint Brooklyn for New York Cares day and has done events for CAAF Halloween Dream Fundraisers, Jane Magazine, Redken, Genart, and Time Out Kids. BlairWear also held an art exhibition just for kids of her poppy paintings in July 2005, and was featured on Good Day New York.

Dressing in her signature pink tutu, and bouffant pink wig Blair will come and airbrush at your party or special event. The paints are safe and nontoxic. BlairWear airbrushes shirts, bags and more for the kids and gives them wearable BlairWear to go! No goodie bag needed! Kids of all ages, toddlers to tweens, and even adults love the funny quirky art that they can wear!

Questions one would normally ask Blair prior to an event are, "Does the paint wash out?" At which case the answer is, No. The paints are permanent and there are directions on how to colorfast your child's shirt so it will stand the test of time. Some also might ask, “Can I have other things airbrushed by BlairWear that aren't shirts?” And to that question, the answer is yes. Blair has airbrushed on canvases, backpacks, shoes, anything as long as it is white.
